Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention the player specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete directly, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.
Police Reports Reportedly Not on File
No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
