Former Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
